About 3D Public Domain
3D Public Domain is a curated library of public domain and creative commons media transformed into immersive 3D formats. The goal is to make historic, artistic, and creative material easier to enjoy on modern devices, including VR headsets, 3D televisions, 3D monitors, and standard screens using anaglyph glasses.
What this site is
This platform is more than a basic archive. It is a specialist collection of visual material that has been prepared for 3D viewing and collecting. Content can include historical photographs, artworks, stereographs, films, comics, AI-generated imagery, and 3D print template resources.
The focus is on turning interesting source material into something more immersive, more accessible, and more enjoyable on current hardware.
What you can find here
- Converted public domain and creative commons media
- Multiple 3D viewing formats for different devices
- Downloads for collectors, enthusiasts, researchers, and hobbyists
- 3D print templates and related specialist media
- New additions and updated collections over time
3D formats available on the site
Different users have different equipment, so the site supports several popular 3D formats.
Stereoscopic (SBS)
Side-by-side 3D format for VR headsets and 3D displays. This delivers full depth perception when viewed with compatible devices and is one of the most common modern stereoscopic formats.
Anaglyph
Classic red and cyan 3D that works on normal screens using simple anaglyph glasses. It is one of the easiest ways to experience 3D without specialist hardware.
Top / Bottom
Also known as over / under 3D, this format stacks the left and right images vertically. It is useful for certain 3D displays, players, and headset workflows that support top/bottom stereoscopic playback.
3D Printables
Downloadable 3D printable files such as STL models. These can be used with 3D printers to create physical objects, making the collection useful for makers, hobbyists, and collectors beyond screen-based viewing.
More than just images
Historic and creative media
The library includes a range of visual material, from archive-style content to more experimental and artistic work.
3D print templates
Some sections include downloadable 3D printable files such as STL models, designed for use with home and professional 3D printers.
Built for collectors
The site is designed for people who want to discover, unlock, keep, and revisit unusual 3D content over time.
How downloads and tokens work
The site uses a token system for many downloads. Not every item costs the same number of tokens. Some items may be free, while others can cost more depending on the content.
Tokens are only used the first time you unlock an item. Once unlocked, it remains in your collection and can be downloaded again later without spending additional tokens.
- Free: 1 token every 30 days
- Monthly: 10 tokens every 30 days
- Yearly: 12 tokens every 30 days
- Lifetime: unlimited downloads
Payments and account access
Paid memberships are handled through PayPal. Accounts are created first and then activated after payment is checked. This is currently managed manually to keep the system accurate and reduce misuse.
3Dpublicdomain.com is owned and managed by Internal Arts. All PayPal payments are processed through Internal Arts.
Growing over time
The site is designed to grow progressively. New media, new categories, featured collections, format examples, and updates can be added over time without changing the core system. This means the library can keep expanding while staying organised and easy to browse.
Explore the collection
Whether you are interested in anaglyph images, side-by-side stereoscopic content, top/bottom formats, VR-ready viewing, or specialist 3D print template material, the library is designed to make browsing and collecting easier.
